NV PROFESSIONAL

  • Our 5-Day NV Professional course is designed to prepare military personnel, security contractors, or other armed professionals to conduct operations under low light/ no-light conditions in developed urban environments characterized by:
    1. varied and unpredictable light conditions; and
    2. the presence of non-combatants.
  • The course will focus on enabling students to read light conditions and properly employ night vision technology, white light, and other tools to gain a dominant advantage over adversaries. Students will also learn to identify and engage targets quickly and precisely while wearing NVGs and/ or manipulating a flashlight. The course includes classroom presentation, live fire drills, and non-lethal training ammunition (NLTA) drills and exercises (force-on-target and force-on-force). NLTA conversion kits and ammunition are included in the price.

COURSE TOPICS

    • Physiology and psychology of night operations
    • Reading and understanding light conditions
    • Low-light engagement principles
    • Tactical employment of a flashlight with pistol and rifle
    • Individual movement in close quarters environments (using a flashlight and under NVGs)
    • Introduction to limited penetration room clearing
    • NV pistol/ rifle employment (with qualification courses of fire)
    • Countering adversaries’ use of white light
    • Searching for, assessing, and surgically engaging targets in a low-light, CQB environment
    • Mission planning

PREREQUISITES

  • This course is restricted to US military, law enforcement, and select security professionals who have documented intermediate to advanced level training with both the carbine and the handgun.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

    • Night vision goggle with head or helmet mount
    • High quality, tactical flashlight
    • Duty/ tactical gear (with ability to carry at least 3 spare rifle mags and 2 spare pistol mags)
    • PPE (eye and double ear protection; hat or helmet; body armor is optional but recommended)
    • Pistol with tritium sights
    • Rifle/ carbine with optical sight and IR laser, sling, and at least 4 magazines
    • Notepad & pen
    • Approximately 300 rounds pistol and 300 rounds rifle

    * UTM non-lethal training ammunition and conversion kit for AR-15/ M4 style rifles will be provided.
    * Rental gear is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

OPEN ENROLLMENT

  • We typically offer open enrollment NV Operator courses 2 to 3 times per year at our facility in Brunswick, GA. You can register on our open enrollment schedule.
