Aimpoint® Academy Red Dot // Pistol is designed to give students a thorough understanding of key concepts, principles, and techniques that relate to the use of Aimpoint® ACRO red dot sights (RDS) for combat or defensive shooting. The course focuses on maximizing the benefits of the red dot sight in terms of speed and accuracy. We’ll also dispel some myths related to RDS, revisit marksmanship fundamentals from a coaching perspective, and address some advanced topics like CQB moving and shooting and low light pistol employment.
While the material is fundamental in nature, this is an instructor-level course. The course is highly customizable, however, so it can (and typically will) be adjusted to the skill level and needs of each client agency.

PREREQUISITES
This course is open to US military, law enforcement, and select security professionals.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Pistol with optical sight, sling, and at least 3 magazines
Duty/ tactical gear (with ability to carry at least 2 spare pistol mags)
PPE (eye and double ear protection; hat or helmet; body armor is optional but recommended)
Notepad & pen
Approximately 500 rounds of pistol ammunition
* While we recommend that you use your own gear if available. Required gear, including pistol and optic, MAY be available for use during this course.
OPEN ENROLLMENT
This course is typically only offered directly to government agencies or organizations. We also occasionally offer it in 4 hour ‘workshop’ format as an open enrollment course at our facility In Brunswick.
We are fortunate to have a well-rounded team of experts on staff. More importantly, though, our proximity to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and our ties to various LE agencies and military units allow for input from experienced instructors and operators from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.
